Who we are
Statement of Faith
- The Bible is inspired by God and tells us of God’s gracious provision of the only way of salvation for mankind.
- There is only one true God who exists in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He was raised from the dead, ascended into Heaven and intercedes for us at the right hand of God the Father. He will return visibly and bodily in power and glory.
- The Holy Spirit, the third member of the Trinity, instructs us today to understand the Scriptures and unites believers into the Church Invisible regardless of gender, race or social class.
- Man’s only hope for salvation is to place faith in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith in Him makes man a new creation, gives eternal life and fits him for Heaven.
- Because of the gratitude we should bear to God for our salvation and because we have concern for those who do not yet know Him and because we are so commanded, believers have the responsibility of reaching out to those who do not yet know the love and grace of God, telling them of His wonderful gift and discipling those who accept it.
The Great Commission
The Great Commission is one of the most significant passages in the Bible. First, it's the last recorded personal instruction Jesus gave to His disciples. Second, it's a special calling Jesus Christ gave to all of his followers to take action here on earth. It's found in the Gospel of Matthew.
Jesus came and said to them, “All power has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go and make followers of all the nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to do all the things I have told you. And I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” Matthew 28:18-20.
We believe that the Great Commission is for every believer, not just for missionaries and pastors. Every Christian is commanded to help reach the world for Christ, and each of us has an important, God-given role to play.
